The Yves Saint Laurent La La Couture Trio Gift Set contains three full size polishes. The retail price of this set is $60 and it is available the YSL website only. These shades can also be purchase individually for $25. This set is great if you are looking to try 3 shades of red: No. 1 Rouge Pop Art is a orangy red, No.6 Rouge Dada is a bluish red, and No. 9 Fuchsia Intemporel is a pinky red. These polishes are very glossy and have great color payoff.
Currently, YSL is having their Friends and Family Event and will go until 12-01-13.

YSL La Laque Couture No. 6 Rouge Dada Review
YSL La Laque Couture No. 6 Rouge Dada |
La Laque Couture No. 6 Rouge Dada is part of the YSL Trio Gift Set ,which contains three full size nail polishes and is only available online. The shade is deep blue red and the finish is very glossy. With a base coat and top coat, I wore this polish for a about a week with minimal wear on the tips.

NARS Petit Monstre Lipstick Review
NARS Petit Monstre Lipstick |
NARS Petit Monstre Lipstick is described as a "rich berry" and is under the satin finish category. The color is a soft red with lots of finely milled orange/gold shimmer, which make it look almost metallic. The texture is very creamy and pigmentation is great. The formula was comfortable for me to wear for more than 5 hours. I really like that this lipstick has no fragrance.

YSL La Laque Couture No. 9 Fuchsia Intemporel Review
YSL La Laque Couture No. 9 Fuchsia Intemporel |
When I think of fuchsia, I imagine a shade of red with purple in it. The YSL La Laque Couture No. 9 Fuchsia Intemporel, looks like a pinky red more than a purple red to me. Nevertheless, the color is still pretty and it has a glossy finish. This nail polish can be purchase separately for $25 or as a part of Gift Trio for $60. With a base coat and top coat, the polish lasted about a week with only some wear on the very tip of my nails.

Laura Mercier Translucent Pressed Setting Powder Review
Laura Mercier Translucent Pressed Setting Powder |
To set my make up and avoid too much oiliness throughout the day, I have being using the Laura Mercier Translucent Pressed Setting Powder (0.28 Oz (8.1 g), $34). I was tired of using loose powders and I wanted to try something less messy when it comes to application and travel. This powder comes in a compact with a mirror and a sponge. It helps my makeup stay in place for awhile, but after 3 or 4 hours my skin starts to get oily. Even though the powder is translucent, it still has to be applied with a light hand or it will look kind of ashy and cakey. This product is finely milled and when I used a brush, sometimes it would go everywhere. The packaging is great for traveling and the powders work well. However, in terms of amount per dollar, you get more product for about the same price if you purchase the loose version of this setting powder (1.0 Oz (29 g) ,$35).

Laura Mercier Tawny Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 Review
Laura Mercier Tawny Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 |
I would describe my skin type as combination type. I have some oiliness on my forehead and nose and some small dry areas around the cheeks. I have being wearing the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 for a while and I like it OK. The shade Tawny is "for light tanned and olive complexions with yellow undertones." This shade is pretty good match for my skin color. The coverage is light and the formula feels hydrating on my skin. However, I have to apply a primer under this moisturizer and a setting powder on top to keep it from oxidizing throughout the day. Since the outer part of the cap fell apart for no reason, I don't like the packaging very much.
Laura Mercier Mineral Foundation Primer Review
Laura Mercier Mineral Foundation Primer |
I have being using the Laura Mercier Mineral Foundation Primer for a couple of months and my overall impression is that it's good. This primer contains "a good-for-you blend of vitamins and minerals to visibly improve the appearance of skin." Vitamins A and E are the two vitamins listed in the ingredients. This primer looks milky white when squeezed out of the tube and goes on clear when smoothed out on the skin. It does make my skin feel smoother, but I don't see much difference in the appearance of my pores or my overall skin. Since foundations primers are designed to prolong the makeup wear, this primer worked well. I like the product, but I don't like the packaging as much. I tried to store it with the cap facing down, but the product kept making a mess inside the cap.

YSL La Laque Couture No. 29 Dore Orfevre Review
YSL La Laque Couture No. 29 Dore Orfevre |
Without a doubt, the new Yves Saint Laurent La Laque Couture No. 29 Dore Orfevre is gorgeous. The color is gold, but not too yellow. It is more on the soft rosy gold. I used two coats on my fingernails and the color payoff was excellent. With a base coat, this nail polish lasted about 5 days with some wear on the tips but without chipping. Although I really liked this shade, I had some issues with the formula. Since the nail polish is very metallic, it applied with some streaks. I also had to deal with a few tiny bubbles and it took longer to dry compared to other YSL nail polishes.

NARS Douce France Trio Eyeshadow Review
NARS Douce France Trio Eyeshadow |
Continuing on another NARS product, Douce France is a an eyeshadow trio with shades of pink. The lightest shade is described as a "icy pink." The second shade is described as a "rose petal pink." The third shade is described as a "deep rose." All the shades have a small amount of very fine shimmer, but the deep rose shade looks more on the matte side. The formula feels silky and smooth, but the pigmentation is only so-so. The lightest shades is hardly noticeable on my skin. The other two shades are better, but you still have to pack the color to make them more visible. With the help of an eyeshadow primer, these shadows stayed on without creasing for over 6 hours, but they still faded overtime.

NARS Nana Lip Gloss Review
NARS Nana Lip Gloss |
Nana is another lip gloss I picked up from the NARS sale. The shade is described as a "deep black grape." The color looks strong and dark inside the tube, but it is disappointingly sheer. When applied, the little amount of pigmentation this product has settles on the lines of the lips. The formula is not very sticky and is very comfortable. However, this shade only lasted a little over 3 hours on my lips. I liked that this lip gloss has no shimmer nor fragrance.

NARS Luxor Lip Gloss Review
NARS Luxor Lip Gloss |
NARS Lip Gloss in the shade Luxor is described as a "iridescent pink." The formula is supposed to be "ultra-smooth, non-sticky, and comfortable to wear." There is not a lot of pigmentation in this lip gloss. The color payoff is a sheer wash of fine iridescent pink shimmer, which looks pretty on top of lipsticks. The formula is conformable to wear, but I did find it a bit on the sticky side. I wore it for over 4 hours and my lips felt hydrated the entire time. The full price of this lip gloss is around $25. I purchased mine for about $15 during a NARS insider sale.

NARS Montenegro Cream Blush Review
NARS Montenegro Cream Blush |
I purchased the NARS Cream Blush in Montenegro a while back during a sale. The retail price of this blush is $29. I paid about $20 for this product. The shade is described as a "rich mahogany" and it looks to me that it has a very small amount of shimmer. The blush looks intimidating in the pan, but the color is pretty when applied lightly on the cheeks. The texture is nice and creamy without feeling oily. I noticed that the blush started to fade after 4 hours of wear, which is not so great. Overall, I liked the texture and the color payoff of this blush.

YSL La Laque Couture No. 1 Rouge Pop Art Review
YSL La Laque No. 1 Rouge Pop Art |
No.1 Rouge Pop Art is one of the colors included in the YSL La Laque Trio Gift Set. This shade is a glossy orangy red with no shimmer. The nail polish lasted over 5 days with a base coat. I did not experience any chipping, only some minor wear on the tips of my nails. I applied 2 coats to achieve full coverage. The formula applied smoothly with no streaks and it dried fast. The set includes 3 full-size nail polishes (0.34 Fl. Oz (10 mL each)) and retails for $60. As far as I know, this set is only available online. The YSL nail polishes retail for $25 and this particular shade can be purchased separately. I like the packaging and the brush of this polish.

Suqqu Eyeshadow Brush M Review
Suqqu Eyeshadow Brush M |
While at Selfridges, I also picked up the Suqqu Eyeshadow Brush M. This brush is also 100% natural hair according to suqqu.com. The length of this brush is about 13.5 cm and retails for £48 (77 USD). The tip of the brush is round and slightly tapered. It can be used for applying color all over the eyelid or it can be used for blending the color. I really like the softness of this brush and it's versatility.

Suqqu Face Brush Review
Suqqu Face Brush |
I love makeup brushes and when I was in London I went Selfridges and purchased the Suqqu Face Brush. This brush is the most expensive makeup brush I own, with a price tag of £168 (about 270 USD). There aren't many detail listed on the box this brush came in except that it is made in Japan. The bristles are 100% squirrel according to suqqu.com and they are very dense (almost feels like a whole squirrel worth of hair went into one brush). The length of the brush is about 17 cm. This brush is beyond soft. It picks up fine milled products so well and applies them evenly. I really like this brush a lot and I would give it a 5/5, but the price is so high.

YSL La Laque Couture No. 40 Sepia 7E Art Review
YSL La Laque Couture No. 40 Sepia 7E Art |
YSL La Laque Couture No. 40 Sepia 7E Art is a deep plum shade available online only. The color is gorgeous and the finish is very glossy with no visible shimmer. Two coats are necessary to achieve full coverage. I did not know if this formula would stain my fingernails, so I used a base coat. The polish lasted about 5 days on my fingernails with some wear on the tips. I like this polish a lot but I don't really like the price versus the amount you get. The price is $25 and the size is 0.34 Fl. Oz. (10 mL). Most nail polishes are about 0.5 Fl. Oz. (15 mL) which I consider a full-size nail polish.

Smashbox Timeless 15 Hour Wear Cream Shadow in Quartz Review
Smashbox Timeless 15 Hour Wear Cream Shadow in Quartz |
According to Smashbox.com the Timeless 15 Hour Wear Cream Shadows should not crease, cake, or flake. They should "hold up against water and humidity." The shade I purchased is called Quartz a "soft rose gold." It's a very pretty color and I wore it alone for more than 10 hours without a shadow base. This shadow is very creamy and blends well. I have oily eyelids and it did not crease on me or flake or fade. Although, this cream eyeshadow is great, I don't like how big the shimmery particles are.

NARS Insider Private Sale Part 1
A few weeks ago, NARS had an Insider Private Sale. To be part of this sale you had to be subscribed to the NARS' email list. During the sale, several products from previous collections where up to %50 off. I purchased 5 nail polishes for $10 each. These shades are still available at NARS' website at the full retail price of $19. I haven't used all of them, but I'll post my reviews as I try them. Here is some information and pictures about each of the 5 nail polishes I got.

Bobbi Brown Pink Coral Blush Review
Bobbi Brown Pink Coral Blush |
Bobbi Brown Pink Coral Blush is a new shade described as "a soft coral pink" and I think the description is accurate. The texture feels smooth and it's finely milled. The finish is matte and it blends wells. This blush has great pigmentation and it lasted more than 5+ hours on my cheeks.

Pierre Hardy for NARS Nail Polish Pairs Venemous Review
Pierre Hardy for NARS Nail Polish Pairs Venemous |
The nail polish set in Venemous includes two full-size nail polishes packaged in a Pierre Hardy for NARS signature mini shoebox and a small dust bag. The shade Venemous Right is glossy black and Venemous Left is described as gunmetal, but I think it looks more silver than gunmetal. Both colors are complementary and can be worn together or separately. The retail price for a full-size NARS nail polish is $19. This set retails for $29. Both polishes have great color payoff after two coats. Venemous Left seems a bit streaky compared to Venemous Right. Without a base coat or a topcoat, these polishes started to show wear on the tips of my nails after 3 days. Using a base coat and a top coat prolonged the wear for about 5 days. Overall, I like the shade of these polishes and I wish they had longer wear time.

MAC Mineralize Rich Lipstick Lady at Play Review
Lady at Play lipstick from MAC apparently has a formula that contains a "77-Mineral Moist Complex that instantly nourishes lips with maximum moisture." The color is described as a "mid-tonal cool tangerine." This lipstick looks very vivid and bright on the bullet, but the coverage is buildable. It feels very comfortable on the lips and as the lipstick wears off it leave a soft stain on the lips. Most MAC lipsticks cost $15 to $16.50. This lipstick retails for $22 and it contains more product. The scent is vanilla just like the other MAC lipsticks.

YSL Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils 5 Burgundy Review
YSL Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils 5 Burgundy |
I love color and lately I've being trying different mascara brands with interesting shades. YSL Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils 5 Burgundy is supposed to achieve dramatic results with a single stroke. It claims to have a "Triple-Film Complex: a film-coating for intensity, a conditioning film for curve, and a fixing film for long-lasting effectiveness." The color looks great when swatched on the skin, but it does not show at all on my black eyelashes. I really like the volume this mascara provides. It makes my lashes look thick without clumping, but it does not hold the curl very well. Although the formula of this mascara is not waterproof, it lasted about 5 hours before it started to smudged underneath the eye area.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Kohl Pencils 6K and 7K Review
MAKE UP FOR EVER Kohl Pencils 6K and 7K |
According to Sephora, MAKE UP FOR EVER Kohl Pencils in 6K and 7K are supposed to have a smooth texture and because of the gentle formula they can also be used inside the eye (waterline). 6K is a soft black with gold flecks and the pigmentation of this pencil is good. 7K is a metallic gold and the pigmentation is sheer. In terms of texture, 7K is softer and smoother than 6K. When I applied it in the waterline, the color lasted a couple hours. Around the eye the color lasted a lot longer, but it also faded slowly and without an eyeshadow primer it creased a bit. I liked both colors. The formula is soft and can be smudged for a smokey effect.

CHANEL LÈVRES SCINTILLANTES Glossimer 176 Crushed Cherry Review
CHANEL LÈVRES SCINTILLANTES Glossimer 176 Crushed Cherry |
CHANEL LÈVRES SCINTILLANTES Glossimer 176 Crushed Cherry at first glance might look intimidating, but the deep blue tone red color of this lipgloss is absolutely gorgeous. I really liked how glossy this lipgloss looked without any shimmer. The formula is very comfortable and non-sticky. It also wears wells for hours and as the lipgloss wears off it leaves a beautiful stain on the lips. I only wish the color payoff was more opaque, but overall I am very happy with this product.

CHANEL INIMITABLE Waterproof Mascara 57 Blue Note Review
CHANEL INIMITABLE Waterproof Mascara 57 Blue Note |
CHANEL INIMITABLE Waterproof Mascara in the shade 57 Blue Note is supposed to provided volume, length curl and precise separation in an all-in-one long-wearing waterproof formula that won't flake or smudge. I love the cobalt blue color of this mascara. I had tried other colored mascaras before, but they never had good color payoff. 57 Blue Note has excellent pigmentation and provides good volume. Since my lashes are very straight, I always have to use an eyelash curler before I apply mascara. This mascara held the curl for more than 10+ hours without smudging, flaking or looking too clumpy. The formula is waterproof so a really good makeup remover is needed to take it off. I really like this product and highly recommend it if you want to try blue on your lashes.

Bobbi Brown No Smudge Mascara Review
Bobbi Brown No Smudge Mascara |
Bobbi Brown No Smudge Mascara is supposed to be a buildable, long-wearing, waterproof mascara that defines, curls and lengthens lashes without smudging, clumping or flaking. I wore this mascara on its own, but apparently it can be applied on top of other mascara formulas to make the lashes waterproof. My eyelashes are very straight so I had to use a lash curler before application and this mascara did not hold the curl very well. One coat looks good, but it does not add volume to the lashes. After two coats, I noticed some clumping. I wore this mascara for a solid 7 hours without smudging, but I did have some tiny tiny flakes. Overall, it is a decent mascara.

Laura Mercier Crème Eye Liner in Indigo Review
laura mercier crème eye liner in indigo |
Of the three Laura Mercier Crème Eye Liners I recently purchased, Indigo was my least favorite. Even though the formula was very creamy and it had great pigmentation, it only lasted a couple of hours. The color is a beautiful midnight blue, but it flaked over time. I tried to gently remove the tiny flakes off my face and I ended up with streaks of blue. The pigmentation of this eyeliner is intense and it stained my eyelids. I had a hard time removing all the blue residue.

Laura Mercier Crème Eye Liner in Violet Review
laura mercier crème eye liner in violet |
According to the description, Laura Mercier Crème Eye Liner in Violet is supposed to be water-proof, crease-proof, 8 hour long-wear, smudge and transfer resistant. The color is an eggplant purple with a semi-matte finish. The texture of this eye liner is very creamy, which allows ample time to apply it before it sets. The pigmentation is OK but not great. I had to apply about two coats to get the rich purple color. I wore it for about 8 hours without any smudging or creasing.

Laura Mercier Brush Cleanser Review
laura mercier brush cleanser |
When I apply my makeup, I tend to use a lot of brushes and I end up with a lot of "dirty brushes." I don't like deep cleaning all my brushes after one use, so I purchased the Laura Mercier Brush Cleanser. This cleanser is really good at removing the powdery products from your makeup brushes and it dries quite fast too. For $18 you get 250 mL (8.4 Fl. Oz) of cleanser in a spay bottle! I clean my brushes by spraying the cleanser in a tissue and then I gently rub my brush against the tissue a few times. This cleanser works really well on long-wear makeup if you dip the brush in the solution, but doesn't remove lipstick very well.

Bobbi Brown High Shimmer Lip Gloss in Electric Violet Review
Bobbi Brown High Shimmer Lip Gloss in Electric Violet |
Bobbi Brown High Shimmer Lip Gloss in Electric Violet is described as a "pink with violet pearl." The color looks strong in the tube, but it goes on sheer on the lips. The violet shimmer is finely milled and not overpowering. This lip gloss has a faint peppermint scent. The formula is very glossy and slightly sticky. It stayed on for about 4 hours without feeling uncomfortable. For the price, I wish this lip gloss had a better color payoff.

Laura Mercier Crème Eye Liner in Espresso Review
laura mercier crème eye liner in espresso |
I recently purchased the Laura Mercier Crème Eye Liner in Espresso. According to the description, this product is supposed to be water-proof, crease-proof, 8 hour long-wear, smudge and transfer resistant. The color is a dark brown with a semi-matte finish. The texture of this eye liner is extremely creamy and the color pigmentation is really good. I was not very happy with this eyeliner the first time I tried it on. The texture is very creamy and it took longer than most gel eyeliners to set. After wearing for about one hour, this eyeliner started to smudge even with an eyeshadow primer underneath it. I had better luck the second time I tried it. Once I put on, it took less time to set and lasted more than 8 hours. I also tested it on my waterline, but it smudged throughout the day. I like the color and texture, but I'm not crazy about the performance and variability of the wear.

MAC Neon Orange Lipstick Review
MAC Neon Orange Lipstick |
As the name implies, MAC Neon Orange is a bright orange lipstick. This shade of orange might look intimidating in the tube, but I found it very wearable. The pigmentation is excellent. The formula feels creamy and moisturizing. I wore it for more than 4 hours without my lips feeling dried. This lipstick stained my lips and I had to use makeup remover to get rid of the remaining color. Overall, I am very happy with this lipstick's color and performance.

Estée Lauder Pure Color Vivid Shine Lipstick in Brilliant Bare Review
Estée Lauder Pure Color Vivid Shine Lipstick in Brilliant Bare |
Brilliant Bare is a limited edition Pure Color Vivid Shine Lipstick from Estée Lauder. The shade as peachy nude with a moderate amount of fine shimmer. The coverage is light-to-medium. The formula is creamy and lasted 4 hours on my lips. I like the color of this lipstick, but I found it difficult to wear. The pale shade accentuated the dryness of my lips in a non-attractive way. My advice is to gently exfoliate the lips prior application.

Make Up For Ever Glitters #4 Review
Make Up For Ever Glitters #4 |
The color of Make Up For Ever Glitters #4 is opalescent white with a violet reflection. When viewed inside the container, the product appears white, but when viewed in a thin layer the color's reflection becomes ultraviolet. These glitters are finer than I expected and can be used on the face or body. I tried to apply it dry over an eyeshadow base, but the product did not stick to my eyelids. So, I was bummed out. On my next attempt, I used MAC Mixing Medium and it worked!. I dampened my brush slightly and dipped in to the glitter, then patted it on my eyelids. With a damp brush, I had very little fall-out and it lasted a long time. The color is beautiful and the price is right for the amount of product you get.

Rouge Dior Lipcolor in 638 Blazing Red Review
Rouge Dior Lipcolor in 638 Blazing Red |
Rouge Dior Lipcolor in 638 Blazing Red is a vibrant red orange lipstick with a satin finish and no visible shimmer. The color is strong and might not appeal to everyone. The formula is creamy, long-wearing, and hydrating. The lipstick also has a strong floral scent. Both the color and the fragrance wear for a long time. In my case, I wore it for about 5 hours, but ended up with a mild headache due to the strong scent. After the lipstick wore off, my lips remained stained and I had to use makeup remover to get rid of the color. My two complaints for this product are: the high-price and the scent.

Estée Lauder Pure Color Stay-on Shadow Paint in Sinister Review
Estée Lauder Pure Color Stay-on Shadow Paint in Sinister |
Estée Lauder Pure Color Stay-on Shadow Paint in Sinister?
"Sinister" is a cream eyeshadow with multicolored shimmer in a grayish-black base. The formula is supposed to be crease-free with a 12-hour wear.
I like...
The creaminess of the formula. The pigmentation is decent but not awesome. I did not experience any creasing with or without an eyeshadow primer. I wore it for more than 10 hours.
I did not like...
This shade does not layer as nicely as "Extreme Emerald." I tried building up the color, but I ended with clumps. Even though the eyeshadow stayed-on well on my oily eyelids, the clumps eventually flaked off.
Overall...
"Sinister" works well as a sheer eyeshadow or as an eyeshadow base. The formula feels nice but you must apply it quickly.

Estée Lauder Pure Color Vivid Shine Lipstick in Pink Voltage Review
Estée Lauder Pure Color Vivid Shine Lipstick in Pink Voltage |
Estée Lauder Pure Color Vivid Shine Lipstick in Pink Voltage ?
Ultra shimmery light pink lipstick with light-to-medium coverage.
I like...
The creamy texture and conditioning formula. I wore it for about 4 hours and my lips did not feel dry.
I did not like...
The sheerness of the shade. With the name "Pink Voltage" I expected a stronger pink, but it is just a light pink with a frosty finish. Layering the lipstick did not intensify the color either, it simply increase the amount of shimmer.
Overall...
The formula makes this lipstick very comfortable.

Estée Lauder Pure Color Stay-on Shadow Paint Extreme Emerald Review
Estée Lauder Pure Color Stay-on Shadow Paint Extreme Emerald |
It is an eyeshadow in a cream form. The shade is a vibrant green with fine shimmer and a formula that is supposed to be crease-free with a 12-hour wear.
I like...
The color! I haven't seen many green cream eyeshadows, in fact this is the first one I own.
The texture and pigmentation are great. The formula is super creamy and glides on the lids effortlessly. The color can be layered from sheer to an opaque finish. I did not experience any creasing with or without an eyeshadow primer. I wore it for more than 10 hours with little fading.
I did not like...
The shadow has to be blended fast before it sets. Once the product dried, I tried blending another color and I ended up with some fallout.
Overall...
If you are looking for a green cream eyeshadow, this a good option. It works great if you have oily eye lids like me.

Make Up For Ever Diamond Powder Gold 16 (Gold Shimmer)
Make Up For Ever Diamond Powder Gold 16 (Gold Shimmer) |
Make Up For Ever Diamond Powder?
This product is in between a Star Powder and glitter. The particles are bigger and more shimmery than a Star Powder but smaller than glitter.
I like...
The gold color and the versatility of this product. It can be applied dry or wet and can be used all over the face and body.
I did not like...
The high price for a small amount of product. When applied dry, there was a lot of fall-out and does not last as long as applying it wet. However, using with a damp brush the product applied chunky.
Overall...
It is a fun product to use, but if you want to try it without purchasing it at full price, wait until Sephora's friends and family sale.
